The Persistent Hound
My son and the granddog stayed at my house this weekend. I always love having my kids at my house. I especially enjoy having my son's dog over, especially since I my own dog passed away. My family refers to me as the weakest link during mealtimes. The weakest link is the person who cannot refuse the somber eyes of a starving pup. In this case, I am the weakest link. I am constantly sneaking food to my son's dog. It totally has to do with his persistent attitude. I can eat an entire meal avoiding his gaze, yet he'll still stare with a look of longing and hope because the meal isn't done yet. There's always the chance to eat the last bite of food. And, of course, I do save him the last bite. I believe our relationship with God should reflect that same persistence. Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean that it won't. God hasn't finished yet. So until God is done, we look to him with longing and hope. One of my favorite scriptures is 1 Corinthians 15:58. ESV Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
Don't give up because your labor is not in vain. God hasn't finished!
Have a great week high-heeled warriors!
