Anticipating Flight

I've got some baby birds that have been growing on my front porch. My son sat on my porch swing and was dive-bombed by the momma bird. It was like the Hitchcock movie. The tweeting was making my son's dog excited, but this weekend, it was amped even higher. The baby birds are learning to fly. As we sat on the porch swing, we could hear the fluttering of tiny wings. In the next couple of weeks, the birds will find their confidence and take flight. The anticipation is that the time of growth will result in flight. This made me think of 1 Peter 1:6-9

“You rejoice in this, even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials so that the proven character of your faith—more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire—may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him; though not seeing him now, you believe in him, and you rejoice with inexpressible and glorious joy, because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”

Just like the birds, we may not see the flight, but we believe that growth will result in the end result of flight. We may not see the end result of Christ yet, but through our trials, and belief in God's faithfulness, growth comes.  In that character growth of faith,we will achieve the end result of salvation and the joy of knowing Christ. I encourage you to not give up. God is faithful, and in due time, you will reap the goal of Christ Jesus if you don't give up

Have a great week high-heeled warriors!
