No Room at the Inn (The Four Hundred Dollar Room)
As we were preparing for moving my daughter back home after four years of college, we got the news that my mother-in-law had a stroke. We were blessed that my husband was with her at the time of the stroke, so he was able to get her to the hospital immediately. She was treated and air-flighted to a larger hospital for treatment in Fayetteville. We drove over to visit before big move for my daughter the next day. After checking in at the hospital, it was already almost eleven at night. We decided it would be better to sleep in Fayetteville. My husband would visit the hospital early, and then we would drive down to move my daughter. We pulled into a packed parking lot of a nearby hotel, only to find no vacancy. We were informed that it was the University of Arkansas graduation weekend and a ball game. There were no hotel rooms in not only Fayetteville, but also surrounding towns. We walked to the neighboring hotel to find one room available. This was a tiny room with a full-sized bed, but it was available. After scrolling through all the booking apps, we found that the small room was it. As we agreed, we were quoted $380. Crazy! As we entered one of the smaller rooms we ever booked, I noticed a weird column at the side of the room. In the tiny bathroom, the shower protruded into the room. The column covered the back of the shower. Even though the room was crazy high, we were happy not to sleep in the car. When you're desperate, you're willing to do things that you normally wouldn't do. What would you do if you were desperate for God?
Have a great week high-heeled warriors!
