Escaping Death

My family love mysteries, so we jumped at the opportunity to complete an escape room as a family. We were told there was only a 5% success rate, and the top winner finished with only 7 minutes on the clock. We said, "Bring it on!" We knew that with our experience with escape rooms and particular set of skills, we could escape. Yes, we did escape with over 10 minutes on the clock, moving us to the top of the leader board. The funny part is that we didn't even use all the clues. We found a way around some of the clues to solve the mystery. Here's my point. Living on the earth is like an escape room. We are here until we escape to what comes next, but here's the kicker. You will not escape to Heaven on your own. You will never be good enough, smart enough, rich enough, or strong enough to make it into Heaven on your own merits. There is only one way and the clue is not hidden. Romans 10:9 states, "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Belief is the key to solving the way to Heaven. It's not enough in an escape room to just find the clue. You need to use it for it to help you. I can go to church, sing songs, and say that there's a God, but do I believe that Jesus conquered death in my place for my sin? Then move from Jesus just being Savior to also becoming Lord? In Medieval times, a lord would direct those under him in what they should do. He disciplined his people to protect them and provided for those under his protection. In turn, they gave their loyalty and pledged to follow his guidance. This was submitting to a lord. Have you submitted to Lord Jesus? This means you don't just have Him save you from death. You pledge to follow Him and His Word and let Him guide you in your decisions. Through Jesus' work on the cross over 2,000 years ago, Jesus has provided the way to freedom and is waiting on the other side with the prize of hope and a future. And the best part, when we ask Him to take control of our lives, we can all be winners who have escaped death.

Have a great week high-heeled warriors!
