Sneaking in Like a Ninja
I got the opportunity to share in church today. We do contest for our children in the church. They raise money to provide Bibles and things to missionaries. If the girls raise more, my husband does an illustrated sermon. If the boys raise more, then I do an illustrated sermon. As you can see, the boys won. I dressed as a Ninja. Unfortunately, two minutes before I stepped out in costume, my costume fan broke, so I became the flabby ninja. My sermon was four habits that let the enemy sneak in like a ninja. 1) Constant complaining. Philippians 2:14 says to do everything without grumbling or complaining. It weakens your defenses. The Bible says to enter His courts with praise. Enter His courts with thanksgiving. Without gratitude, you are hindering your ability to enter God's presence. 2) Watching dark entertainment. Ephesians 5:11 says to take no part in unfruitful works of darkness. Your eyes are windows to the soul. You're only as strong as what feeds your soul. 3) Ignoring the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Ignoring when God convicts you can silence the Holy Spirit over time. 4) Speaking Carelessly. Proverbs 18:21 says life and death are in the power of the tongue. Your words can shape the atmosphere, wire your brain based on what you focus on, and become what you live out. Philippians 4:8 ESV " Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." Here's a question for you. If every word you spoke came true, would it change the way you speak? If the answer is yes, then change the way you speak. Don't leave the doors open for the enemy to sneak in and destroy your mind.
Have a great week high-heeled warriors!
