Are You Primed Up?

 


After a very busy weekend, my husband and I thought we would wrap it up with some construction on my daughter's future home. We laid trim and realized it would look better painted white, so we took the first step to painting. We primed the wood. I am not super handy in construction. When my brother, husband, and I redid the floor joists and flooring i.n half of my parents' house, I realized this. My husband's growls, repeating of misunderstood instructions, and frequent head shakes indicated this fact. I've even been known to start a project wrong in front of my husband to get him to finish it for me. Because of this, I must say that I am not an expert, but I'll do my best to explain this construction fact. The purpose of priming is to prepare and seal a surface so that paint can stick well. Without primer, the paint will be uneven or not adhere as well. Primer is the foundation needed for a smooth paint job. What happens in our life without a firm foundation? It crumbles. Jesus is that firm foundation that holds everything together. It doesn't guarantee that life will be easy. But it does guarantee that you will not face hardship alone. Jesus is with you every step of the way. Prime your life with Christ, and He seals your life with His presence!

  Today, my daughter and I headed towards Little Rock for her neurologist appointment tomorrow. For the first time since she was in second grade, they are taking her off all seizure medication. A Father's Love

  This weekend was very monumental for us. On Father's Day weekend, we watched one of our daughter's marry her high school sweetheart. It was a beautiful wedding all throughout the day, but one moment brought tears to my eyes. I watched the father/daughter dance. It was a very emotional moment of seeing the love and pride in her father's eyes and the joy on her face. It brought to my mind our relationship with God. Zephaniah 3:17 NIV  The Lord your God is with you,   the Mighty Warrior who saves.  He will take great delight in you;   in his love he will no longer rebuke you,    but will rejoice over you with singing.”   Some translations say, " He will dance over you with singing. When God's Hand is Upon You

  This last week, I saw God's hand over my husband. Every morning, I start my day praying for God's protection over my family, including accidents. I saw this prayer answered. On Wednesday, my husband was commuting home from work driving 55 miles an hour when someone going the opposite direction turned in front of him. He felt like he needed to swerve, so he turned to the right. The woman continued toward him, hitting the front of his car and sending him into a spin toward trees. He prayed he not hit the big trees and relaxed his body. He bounced off two telephone pole-sized trees and came to a stop. There was a sheriff's deputy behind him that mentioned if he had not swerved, both the woman and he would have been seriously injured, if not killed. Here's the miraculous part. All side airbags deployed and the car was totaled, but he walked away with only a tiny scratch on the inside of his left ear- no broken bones, not even a bruise. He didn't even feel very sore th...
