Exposed

I am not a fan of pain any more than I'm a fan of spiders. Currently, tattoos are very popular. I had a sweet woman explaining the meanings behind her tattoos, involving her mother who had passed away and the faithfulness of God in her life. I joked with her saying that if I got a tattoo, mine would be a dot. When asked the meaning, I would say, "It means Owwww!" In other words, I do not want needles on my arm. I've even joked that I need a reminder tattoo that says, "Shhhhh." Just a reminder to keep my mouth shut when I need to remain silent. Even though I joke about this, I have dear people that have faced the pain to remind themselves of something God did or someone who reflected Christ in their life. All of this is to say, recently, a tattoo artist opened up a mobile tattoo trailer. What amazed me was that it had a tattoo chair placed right in front of a window. How exposed would you feel having that done in front of everyone driving by the trailer? Definitely not my cup of tea, but it got me thinking. How easy is it for us to hide from God? It's impossible!

Psalms 139:7-10.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.

This can make one feel very vulnerable knowing that everything you do is seen by God, but it's also freeing. God knows when I am angry, even if my public prayers hide my anger. God knows when my heart is breaking. He knows my deepest thoughts and desires. And the amazing thing is that He loves me anyway. He saw me at my lowest and still extended mercy and grace. And the best part is that if His presence is always there, then I am never alone! He holds onto me and guides me every step of the way. With God, I'm not exposed. I'm seen!

Have a great week high-heeled warriors!
